5 Places to visit for a late summer getaway

Ibiza

As the summer season winds down Ibiza is still a great choice for a late summer getaway where it is less crowded and the weather is still warm. Boasting over a 100 miles of coastline with some 50 beaches as well as the UNESCO-designated old town you will find plenty to do. Head to Es Vedra which has a stunning sandy beach with scenic views. Here you can find several beach clubs both mid and high end for lunch, dinner or if you prefer can just enjoy a drink and watch the sunset.


Santorini

This idylic Cyclades island in the Aegean Sea is a must for pristine blue waters and awe-inspiring scenic views. The multi-coloured houses line the cliffs creating which is accompanied by the most stunning backdrops. Head to beautiful Oia renowned for its sunset views. For a bite to eat and a great place for sun-lounging or snorkelling head to Perissa Black Sand Beach.


Mykonos

When it comes to Mykonos, the most popular Greek Island in the Aegean Sea, think of white buildings and clear blue skies. It boasts fantastic golden sandy beaches. For a more relaxed and secluded retreat head to the beaches in the north of the island. Party goers usually head to the south beaches. Water sports are very popular here and you can enjoy jet skiing, parasailing, windsurfing among others.


Algarve

The Algarve boasts stunning beaches and a warm hospitality for a memorable sun-soaked break. Portugal’s southern region offers plenty of cultural attractions and an array of fabulous beaches. Make sure to see the Benagil Caves, dolphin watching and wine tasting. Make a trip to the pristine beaches of Praia da Luz and Armacao de Pera.


Malta

Malta boasts a rich history with a fascinating array of megaliths and vibrant towns. Malta has become a popular destination for visitors to the Mediterranean with it’s mix of fine beaches, culture and trendy nightlife scene. For a bite to eat head to Spinola Bay, a fishing port with an array of restaurants and bars that is popular with both locals and visitors. You can experience fly boarding and boating or opt to enjoy the scenic sunset.
