Set some 15-years after the events of the original and in this sequel Emily Kaldwin’s evil aunt has plans of her own for the throne.
In Dishonored 2 you can play as Emily or opt to play her father Corvo Attano, who was the original’s protagonist.
Arkane which is the developer of this highly anticipated sequel has improved on the original’s free flowing gameplay by adding multiple skill-sets allowing you to approach the game depending on your style of play.
The game allows you to approach the beautifully detailed and vast world in stealth, sneaking up behind enemies in surprise attacks or if your feeling more adventurous you can opt to charge-in guns blazing.
This freedom of play, which is what made the originally so great, has been improved and expanded on in Dishonored 2.
Searching for collectibles throughout the vast world of Dishonored 2 allows you to upgrade your character’s abilities.
If you opt for the stealthy approach, you quietly choke your enemies during combat granted you time it right. You can also knock enemies out throwing them from a higher platform. To help with the stealth approach, both characters have the Dark Vision ability allowing you to see enemy character’s through the walls.
There are many more exciting abilities to unlock by finding collectibles, and although time consuming, can lead to some very awesome moves to help you throughout the game.
Abilities can also be combined to create some seriously cool as well as bizarre moves to take out your enemies. It is this highly customizable gameplay that makes Dishonored 2 such a joy to play.
The abilities range from the brutal to the hillarous, allowing you to take-out multiple enemies simultaneously or if you want to avoid a confrontation you can use abilities to distract your enemies.
Because of the vastness of the levels, the game allows you to change the level layout by using levers. These allow you to access hidden areas as well as quick escapes.
The ending of the game depends on your gameplay approach. If you want a happier ending, opt for stealth play. This will make it harder and longer though to progress. Otherwise go guns blazing, which will make it the game easier and give you an alternate ending.
