Reese Witherspoon has had a successful stint outside of acting with her company Hello Sunshine producing such hits as Emmy-winning TV series Big Little Lies and critically acclaimed movies Wild and Gone Girl. The latter she is being sued for.
The movie Wild starring Reese is the chronicle of one woman’s 1,100-mile solo hike undertaken as a way to recover from a recent personal tragedy.
In Gone Girl a man sees the spotlight turned on him when his wife’s disappearance makes him the focus of an intense media circus.
The news will come as a shock to Witherspoon who recently bagged the ‘Entertainment Innovator of the Year’ award.
A new lawsuit filed by screenwriter Leslie Weller, claims Gone Girl shares similiarities with her work Out of the Blue which she wrote back in 2005.
According to TMZ, Weller claims Gone Girl, based on Gillian Flynn’s novel of the same name, was copied (or at least heavily inspired by) Weller’s screeplay, which she sent to a script consultant in 2005.
