Gal Gadot threatens to boycott Wonder Woman 2. The Wonder Woman star has stated that she will not be reprising her role for the sequel if accused sexual harasser Brett Ratner stays on the project.
According to Page Six a source said that Gadot is taking the allegations against Ratner seriously and does not want his company, which helped produce Wonder Woman (2017) from benefiting from the sequel which is slated for a December 2019 release.
The movie starring Gal Gadot was a box-office smash bringing in over $412M domestically and $409M internationally.
The source added of Israeli-born Gadot, “She’s tough and stands by her principles. She also knows the best way to hit people like Brett Ratner is in the wallet.
She also knows that Warner Bros. has to side with her on this issue as it develops. They can’t have a movie rooted in women’s empowerment being part-financed by a man accused of sexual misconduct against women.”
Warner Bros. has said that it will no longer be working with the producer amid a handful of sexual-harassment allegations against him including Olivia Munn and Natasha Henstridge.
Ratner has strenuously denied the allegations against him.
Gadot shared her frustration on Instagram by stating that, “Bullying and sexual harassment is unacceptable! I stand by all the courageous women confronting their fears and speaking out. Together we stand.”
