Courtney Cox may have just confirmed the newest member to join the crew for upcoming sequel ‘Scream 5’.

The entire cast of the upcoming sequel followed each other on Instagram.

The Cougar Town actress, 56, wrote on one of Selena Gomez’ posts: ‘Can’t wait to meet you’, seemingly confirming the singers inclusion in the franchise.

And if that wasn’t enough to confirm it all four confirmed cast members – including Cox, David Arquette, Melissa Barrera, and Jenna Ortega – started following the the 28 year old hit-maker on social media.

Cox shared the news on social media writing a message alongside the franchise’s infamous white mask:. ‘I can’t wait to see this face again’

Wes Craven Directed the original ‘Scream’ back in 1996 which became an instant cult-classic and grossed over $608 million in worldwide box-office receipts.

It’s mixture of satire and horror made it a standout in the overcrowded genre and gave Cox her first major movie breakthrough.

Cox’s ex-husband David Arquette, who also starred in the original, confirmed that he will make a return to the highly anticipated fifth instalment.

Last week Arquette told Entertainment Tonight that he will enjoy working with Courtney in the franchise again, where they met on-set in the original.

‘We always love working together,’ said David. ‘She’s an incredible actress, so it’ll be fun to bring these characters back to life and see where they’re at.’

The Full Trailer for ‘Dune’ Has Arrived

Published

on

(Photo: Warner Bros. Pictures)

The first trailer for the latest adaptation of Frank Herbert’s epic science fiction classic Dune, has finally arrived. Coming from Arrival and Blade Runner 2049 director Denis Villeneuve, the latest take on Dune sports one of the starriest casts of recent memory, giving this adaptation an extra bit of spice.

Timothée Chalamet stars as Paul Atreides, the son of Duke Atreides (Oscar Isaac) and Bene Gesserit Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson). When his father accepts stewardship of the planet Arrakis (commonly referred to as Dune), the only source of the powerful ‘spice’ substance in the universe, Paul’s destiny is changed forever as he is introduced to the world of the Fremen, the natives of Arrakis. The rest of the cast includes such names as Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, Zendaya, Charlotte Rampling, Jason Mamoa, Dave Bautista and Stellan Skarsgård.

Dune has been adapted for cinema once before, back in 1984 by director David Lynch. While that film has since gone on to become something of a cult favourite, it was a critical and financial failure upon release, with Lynch himself effectively disowning the movie. More success was had with a TV mini-series in 2000, but it is clearly no easy task to bring to life Herberts world of complicated politics, warring factions, detailed cultures, supernatural abilities and giant sand-worms. With Villeneuve being behind some of the most stunning sci-fi’s of recent memory, will this trip back to the planet of Dune be a more successful venture?

Without further ado, here’s the first trailer:

Now, that’s one packed trailer. With a clear emphasis on real world locations and tactile production design, the world of Dune already feels tangible, real and dangerous. Many of the details on display ion this first taste look to be very faithful to Herbert’s novel, and even has shades of Lynch’s styling as the trailer sets out the tensions that await Paul and his family when they move to Arrakis.

The real money shot though, is in the tease of the overwhelming size of the sand-worms that shift beneath the surface of Arrakis’ landscape. It’s an impressive glimpse of what Villeneuve has forged from Herbert’s world, in an adaptation that clearly looks like it’s up to the task of transporting us away to experience all the spectacle that this classic story has to offer.

Dune is set to be released in cinemas from December 18th 2o20.

The BFI London Film Festival 2020 Announces Lineup

Published

on

Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan in Francis Lee's 'Ammonite'

Film Festivals are just one of many events across the globe that has been affected by the global pandemic. As a result of these unprecedented times, the format for most festivals is changing this year, and the BFI’s London Film Festival is no exception. With a mixture of select physical cinema screenings and virtual premieres online, this year’s LFF looks set to be the most interactive and accessible lineup yet.

The full program of films selected for this year’s festival have been unveiled, and it offers film fans across the country an eclectic mix of 58 films. These are films from all over the world, with films coming for over 40 countries, with new offerings from directors such as Steve McQueen (whose film will open the festival), Spike Lee, Miranda July, Hirokazu Kore-eda, and Francis Lee (whose film, Ammonite, will close the fest).

It will be a new challenge for the dedicated LFF team this year, but one that the BFI Chief Executive Ben Roberts is excited about, as he told The Guardian: ““Although it’s been born out of crisis, this year’s edition of the LFF will be our most accessible yet.”

The festival, which will run from October 7-18, will offer a new hybrid way of participating with the festival. Around 50 films from the program will have virtual premieres, available only to UK audiences. Some of these films will be screened live, with some being made available for 72 hours, although participants will only be able to watch the film once. There will be a small selection available at cinemas that follow social distancing guidelines, but for the most part this year’s LFF is set to be quite different, and it will undoubtedly be intriguing to see how it all plays out.

You can check out the full list of announced films below, as well as the trailer for the festival to whet your appetite. Make sure to head over to the LFF website for more details.

‘No Time to Die’ Trailer previews Daniel Craig’s Farewell

Published

on

The second trailer for the 25th James Bond film, titled ‘No Time To Die’, gives audiences the biggest insight so far into Daniel Craig’s farewell to the iconic spy franchise.

The action-packed trailer features a number of awe-inspiring stunts and spectacular set pieces, much like the ones that veteran fans have come to expect over the years. Returning stars include Léa Seydoux, Ralph Fiennes, Naomi Harris, Jeffrey Wright and Christoph Waltz, with the trailer spotlighting a dark secret at the heart of Bond’s world, as well as the villain, Safin, played by ‘Mr Robot’ and ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ star Rami Malek.

‘No Time To Die’ marks Craig’s fifth and final big screen appearance as the suave secret agent, having made his debut in ‘Casino Royale’ back in 2006. Craig’s darker and more complex portrayals of Bond have made him a fan favourite and more than justified his selection in the first place.

Doubts about his future were raised after his appearance in 2015’s ‘Spectre’, where he hinted that he did not want to continue as Bond, but was convinced to make a final appearance as a full stop on his tenure.

Further concerns mounted when reports surfaced of a series of major production difficulties. It was announced that chosen director Danny Boyle, legendary in British cinema, would be departing due to creative differences. This, combined with the ongoing pandemic, forced the cinema release to be delayed from April 2020 until November.

After this, Daniel Craig reportedly suffered an ankle injury on set in Jamaica, with the delay causing scheduling difficulties with Rami Malek, limiting the time during which the two could shoot their scenes. Later, legendary singer Grace Jones, who appeared in ‘A View To A Kill’, left the project over her displeasure with the size of her role.

Despite the difficulties the production has faced, the newest trailer looks to reprise all of the key elements that fans love about the series. Billie Eilish’s theme song released to critical and commercial acclaim earlier this year, and fans are optimistic about sending Daniel Craig off on a high.
